THE TRAILS ARE NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL APRIL 6th 2024!!
SEE YOU SOON!!
We are also so proud to announce on APRIL 6th 2024 we will be having a grand opening celebration for The Trails and will be unveiling a enchanted forest art installation that includes interactive art pieces as well as some local pieces sponsored by local businesses and families! If you would like to join our sponsorship program and have a trail feature or art/educational exhibit to be installed on your behalf please reach out! we have a list of features with a price range anywhere from $20-$500 donation can sponsor a new trail feature!! All sponsors receive a season pass and will have a custom made sign installed with their feature!!
We are still finishing the map system which will be posted throughout the trail as well on a few FREE apps so even if you lose the map or get a little lost, a simple step before you start your hike or a quick panic google search should help you find your way! But the trails are labeled with names and color coded by difficulty! GREEN=easy YELLOW=kinda hard RED=REALLY HARD. ALL TRAIL SIGNS GLOW IN HE DARK IN CASE ANYONE GETS REALLY LOST! (nervous chuckle please don't get lost and just read all the signs at the welcome booth at the trail head) The trails passes many scenic natural features and has signs going along so you can learn about some of the natural world around you. Some of the trails have an elevation change of over 100 ft while others are very flat and easy. We've got an estimated 10 miles of trails most of which are wide enough to drive a truck down and a few are old abandoned carriage roads so very easy for large groups or even a small cart! There is large rock formations, steep hills, creeks, marshes and so many beautiful natural scenes. We are also surrounded by wildlife we frequently spot deer, owls, raccoons, moose tracks, coyotes, bobcat tracks, eagles, woodpeckers, woodcocks, grouse and so many more birds! This a great spot to view wildlife and just take in the peace and quiet of our magical part of the Maine wilderness!
Great question! Besides the season pass which means free parking/entry to the farm and The Trails, this is a great opportunity to get recognized by the public and really do something for the community! Every year we donate food and livestock feed to local families in need, we offer many FREE EDUCATIONAL events and have goals to only expand further! Your not just supporting us your supporting your local community!
